Sword Fusion

Sword Fusion is a recurring mechanic in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Overview
Sword Fusion is a type of Fusion where an object is fused with another object or a Demon into usable Equipment. Sword Fusion is not limited to swords, and can result in items like guns or armor.

Shin Megami Tensei
In Shin Megami Tensei, Sword Fusion is performed at the Cathedral of Shadows. Each fusion requires the use of a sword and a demon in the player's stock, with the exception of Karyuken.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nine
In Shin Megami Tensei: Nine, Sword Fusion is performed by fusing a Demon with the Unmarked Katana. Any playable demon can be used as a material for Sword Fusion; however, only eight demons have unique weapons produced by Sword Fusion.
"Unmarked" Fusion Swords can be used as a material for Sword Fusion; however, Fusion Swords created by Special Fusion cannot.
Normal Fusion
The details of the Fusion Sword are determined by the demon used as a fusion material.
- The type of weapon is based on the demon's Inheritance type.
- Fusion Sword Attack = Demon base Attack ÷ 5.
- Fusion Sword Accuracy = Demon Accuracy ÷ 5.
- Fusion Sword Capacity = Fusion Sword base Attack × 1.5 + Fusion Sword Accuracy + (Fusion Sword Attack + Fusion Sword Accuracy) × 5

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
In Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, Sword Fusion is performed by Muramasa in Goumaden by fusing a Demon with the Nameless Sword. Any playable demon (excluding Zeed and members of the General and Hero Races) can be used as a material for Sword Fusion; however, only seven demons have unique weapons produced by Sword Fusion.
Demons used in Sword Fusion are permanently deleted from stock. Multiple Fusion Swords cannot be owned. A weapon produced by Sword Fusion cannot directly be reset to a Nameless Sword; but can be reused in Sword Fusion for a new weapon. Further, However, if the Nameless Sword or any weapon resulting from Sword Fusion is sold, the Nameless Sword will become purchasable at Video Xtreme!
The 3DS version of Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers has an exclusive feature called the Sword Compendium, which allows the player to purchase previously owned Fusion Swords.
