Profile

Origin

Vishnu is the god of preservation in Hinduism, and one of the Trimurti along with Shiva and Brahma. In the Vaishnavite tradition, Vishnu is believed to be the Supreme Being.

Vishnu is known for having ten avatars (daśāvatāra). The exact list varies, but the most common variation is the following in order: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki.

In the Rigveda, Vishnu is a deity associated with light, and is stated to have performed three strides (trivikrama).

Vishnu's design in Megami Ibunroku Persona is based around the idea of "transforming" being similar to the use of Personas, thereby making Vishnu the "Persona King".

Shin Megami Tensei

Vishnu is a demon allied with the forces of Law. He is locked in battle with Ravana at the Government Office Building, due to him preventing God from descending onto the Basilica. On the Chaos route, the Hero is tasked with aiding Ravana in defeating him. He similarly strikes him down on the Neutral route.

On the Law route, the Hero is instead sent to recruit Vishnu and defeat Ravana.
