Metatron is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Metatron is an angel in Rabbinical Judaism that is mentioned in the Talmud. He is the scribe of heaven who writes down the deeds of Israel, and the Talmud also mentions and condemns a belief where Metatron was seen as a second god. Kabbalistic tradition states that he is the angelic form of Enoch after he ascended into heaven, and he is referred to as the "lesser YHWH."

Metatron is also featured in some Islamic traditions as the "angel of the veil."

Metatron is a major character and final boss of the True Demon Ending in the 5th Kalpa. In the Amala Labyrinth he urges the player not to proceed further.

Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner

Metatron is an optional boss. He can only be fought after previous optional bosses, the Four Guardian Beasts Feng Huang, Long, Baihu and Gui Xian have been defeated. Metatron is a human who struggles to contain the Metatron atma personality from consuming him. He accuses the Embryon tribe of killing his girlfriend and attacks. His human side tries and fails to regain control of himself and Metatron takes over completely
