Indrajit is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Meghanada is, in the Ramayana, the eldest son of the rakshasa king Ravana. A fierce warrior, after his father's capture by Indra, Meghanada conquered the devas' realm Svarga (also called Indraloka) and captured Indra, gaining the epithet Indrajit (lit. "conqueror of Indra"). Brahma, in exchange for Indra's freedom, granted Meghanada the boon to win any battle so long as his yajña at Nikumbala remained undisturbed. However, he is ultimately defeated and killed by Lakshmana.

Design

Indrajit is a recolor of Shiva. His sprite in Shin Megami Tensei if... and RTS icon in Shin Megami Tensei: Nine features additional headwear that Shiva does not have, but his in-game model in Nine lacks this headwear.

Shin Megami Tensei (A-Mode DDS)	Origin: Sri Lanka The son of Ravana, king of the Rakshasa. Originally known as Meghnad, he was a great warrior who defeated and captured Indra. As reward for freeing Indra, Brahma gave him the name Indrajit and an invincible body.
Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2	Indrajit is depicted as the son of Ravana, the great king of the Rakshasa, in the Sanskrit epic of ancient India, Ramayana. Originally named Meghanada, the god Brahma was so impressed with him for conquering Indra, gave him the name Indrajit. Meghanada means "Thunderous" or "Lord of Sky (Clouds)" and in fact it is said that he was truly worth of that name on the battlefield.

On the Law and Neutral routes, after the Hero kills Ravana, Indrajit appears enraged before the party and attacks them to avenge his father's death, though he dies in vain.
