Zhuque, also known as Suzaku and Feng Huang in certain localizations,[a] is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
The Zhuque (朱雀), or Vermilion Bird, is one of the Four Symbols, asterisms that represent various things in Chinese culture. The Zhuque represents the south, summer, and fire.
Although many English compendium entries in the Megami Tensei franchise classify Zhuque as a member of the Ssu-Ling (Simplified Chinese: 四灵four spirits, Traditional Chinese: 四靈four spirits, romanized Sìlíng), it is a member of the Ssu-Hsiang (Chinese: 四象four symbols, romanized Sìxiàng).

Notes
- ↑ Many early localizations of Megami Tensei games have mistranslated Zhuque's name as Feng Huang, despite not being the same demons. As of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, this demon has more consistently been referred to as either Suzaku or Zhuque, with the exception of Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 where it is known as Feng Huang. It should also be noted, however, that the Zhu Que and Fenghuang are sometimes equated with each other in some variations of the Four Symbols.
