Kusanagi no Tsurugi is a recurring equipment in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

The Kusanagi no Tsurugi, literally meaning "grass-cutting sword", is one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan along with the Yata no Kagami and the Yasakani no Magatama. It is identified with the Ame-no-Murakumo sword obtained by the deity Susano-o from the serpent Yamata-no-Orochi. The sword was used by the warrior prince Yamato Takeru and got its current name Kusanagi no Tsurugi after Takeru cut grass with it to escape from a fire.
