Game Appearances

Persona 4

Rather than coming from his repressed thoughts, Adachi created Magatsu Inaba to mislead the Investigation Team.[1] After meeting with him in the Desolate Bedroom on December 7th, this dungeon will unlock on December 8th with a deadline of December 24th.

After the player completes the dungeon, time will fast forward to the end of December. Additionally, the game uses December 23rd and 24th for Christmas events, and these events will be skipped over if the dungeon hasn't been cleared yet. It is recommended that the protagonist do Social Links and other activities until December 21st, then complete the dungeon on December 22nd so they can make Christmas plans on December 23rd and see a Christmas event on December 24th.

If the protagonist fails to meet the deadline of December 24th, Naoto Shirogane will call the protagonist while being attacked by a Shadow in reality.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

The animation for Adachi's Instant Kill, Yomi Drop, shows Magatsu-Izanagi dragging his opponent into Magatsu Inaba.

Anime Appearances

Persona 4 The Animation

After Adachi is exposed as the culprit in episode 24, the Investigation Team finds him in the TV World and they all enter Magatsu Inaba. The dungeon has recreations of locations around Inaba and Adachi uses them to re-enact scenes like him pushing Mayumi Yamano into a TV in the lobby of the Amagi Inn. In episode 25, the Investigation Team fights Adachi and then Ameno-sagiri inside of Magatsu Inaba.

Persona 4 The Animation: The Factor of Hope

The Factor of Hope is a theatrical version of Persona 4 The Animation. Like episodes 24-25, Adachi uses the set pieces around Magatsu Inaba to recap the plot up until December, then the Investigation Team fights him there.

Persona 4 The Golden Animation

In the second half of episode 7, Yu and the Investigation Team come to confront Adachi in Magatsu Inaba. While the Investigation Team fights Shadows, Yu fights Adachi by himself in a recreation of the Dojima house.

Manga Appearances

Persona 4

In chapters 60-62, the Investigation Team finds Adachi in the TV World and they all enter Magatsu Inaba. As they progress through the dungeon, he recaps his actions with Mayumi, Saki, Namatame, and Mitsuo. After, Soji fights Adachi and then Ameno-sagiri by himself.

Stage Play Appearances

Visualive Persona 4: The Evolution

The Investigation Team calls Adachi to Junes where they lay out their suspicions against him. After, everyone enters the TV World and fights Adachi, and the setting on the screen behind the actors includes the red city skyline and yellow tape as seen in the game.

Other Appearances

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

Adachi's Instant Kill animation from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, where Magatsu-Izanagi drags his opponent into Magatsu Inaba, is reused for his Astral Finish combo in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle.

Trivia

  • The structure of the dungeon, with the upper level that overlooks the rest, represents Adachi's thoughts. From the yellow caution tape, you can sense that a part of him still knows he's a detective. The red and black lines show Ameno-sagiri generating fog from the center.[1]
