TV World
The TV World is a location in the Persona series.
Gameplay
Studio
When the protagonist enters the TV World in Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, they will be in the studio-looking area that serves as the staging area for activities in the TV World. From the studio, the protagonist can speak to party members to move to the dungeon entrances, talk to the Fox for SP recovery, enter the Velvet Room, save, or leave. Leaving causes time to pass from afternoon to evening. At the entrance level of each dungeon, the protagonist can speak to party members to add them to his party before entering the dungeon.
Dungeons
Dungeons can be accessed by speaking to a party member in the studio area and asking them to go there. They can be revisited at any time even after being cleared.

Fox
Starting with the Steamy Bathhouse, the Fox from Tatsuhime Shrine will join the Investigation Team at Junes and go into the TV World with them. It offers SP restoring services for a price. Increasing its Social Link rank decreases the cost of its services. The fox also charges based on its mood - it will charge less when its in a good mood, and more when it is in a bad mood. While in the studio, the protagonist can also pet the fox when it is in a good mood on certain dates. In Persona 4, this yields a Chest Key. In Golden, this yields clothing depending on the date. For the fox's moods, see the Calendar in Persona 4 or Calendar in Persona 4 Golden.

Game Appearances
Persona 4
The protagonist, Yosuke, and Chie first visit the TV World on April 14th from the large screen TV in the Junes electronics department. They find it full of a yellow fog that limits their visibility and meet a being who lives inside the TV named Teddie. On April 15th, the protagonist and Yosuke return to the TV World, convinced it has something to do with Saki Konishi's death. They run into Teddie again, who agrees to help them, but only if they promise to solve the murder mystery. Teddie lives inside the TV, but lately, someone has been throwing bodies inside and making a mess of the place. After the protagonist promises to help, Teddie presents them with glasses to help navigate the fog.
Following Mayumi Yamano and Saki's deaths, the TV becomes a recurring location as the Investigation Team realizes that people are being thrown into the TV World and appearing as clear images on the Midnight Channel. Thanks to their Personas, they believe they can rescue the victims before they die, thus preventing more murders. After being thrown into the TV, the victims spawn large dungeons based on their thoughts,[2] and the Investigation Team must locate the victims within these dungeons before the Fog settles in Inaba. The team's Navigators must first get hints and information about the victims to find their presence in the TV World; this leads to investigation sequences that require the protagonist to ask about the victims around Inaba before a victim's dungeon is accessible. The team's progress is tracked through the Fool and Judgement Social Links.
Once inside the TV World dungeons, the Investigation Team can summon their Personas to fight against Shadows.[3] Typically, Shadows only sense danger from Persona users and are only aggressive to them while leaving non-Persona users alone. Thus, the victims who get dropped into the TV World are safe until the fog clears.[4] As explained throughout the game, the weather in the real world and the TV World is opposite: When the weather is foggy in the real world, then it becomes clear in the TV World. Furthermore, when the fog clears in the TV World, the Shadows go berserk, lash out, and attack even non-Persona users.[5] This leads to the dead bodies that turn up on power lines and telephone lines in Inaba. The exact reasoning for why the bodies appear on the telephone and power lines is unknown, and Teddie's limited understanding is only that someone disappears from the TV World after the fog clears.[6]
The TV World is not completely separate from reality. When people watch the Midnight Channel, their thoughts pour into the TV World, and this influences things that appear inside the TV.[7][8] The protagonist's party members take note of this, with Chie noticing how some of the Shadows they fight look like they are from an anime.[9]
Throughout the game, the Investigation Team rescues victims from Yukiko's Castle during April, the Steamy Bathhouse during May/June, Marukyu Striptease during June/July, Void Quest during August, the Secret Laboratory during September/October, and Heaven during November. The game's Weather system, specifically the days when the fog settles in Inaba, acts as a hard deadline to save a victim. If the team fails to save a victim before a specific date, then their dead body will appear in reality, and Igor will offer to turn time back a week.

If the protagonist can identify the true culprit in December, then the team will also access Magatsu Inaba and Magatsu Mandala, leading to the good ending. By doing so, the fog lifts from the real world. During Magatsu Inaba, the Investigation Team confronts Ameno-sagiri who reveals that the TV World is a part of the Sea of Unconsciousness that exists within humans and was shaped by their numerous desires. This includes a desire to shy away from the truth. However, there are times when humans wish to see the truth which causes the fog to clear and torments the Shadows. The Investigation Team identifies this as being the reason why Shadows go berserk and attack people.[10] Furthermore, Ame is responsible for them receiving powers, though it was not expecting them to be able to tame their Shadows and use them as Personas.
If the protagonist can also identify who gave him his powers, then the team will gain access to Yomotsu Hirasaka and the true ending. After, the fog will also lift from the TV World, and the Investigation Team sees the TV World turn into a picturesque landscape.
Persona 4 Golden
During Golden, the protagonist can unlock a new dungeon in the TV World called the Hollow Forest which is accessible on February 13th via a TV at an unnamed ski resort in Inaba.
Persona 4 Arena
The members of the Investigation Team and the Shadow Operatives enter the TV World through TVs in Inaba. All of them wind up at a version of Yasogami High School that exists within the TV and has posters for a tournament called the P-1 Grand Prix. After the Grand Prix is over, the Investigation Team and Shadow Operatives re-group in the studio area.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
After the P-1 Climax, Elizabeth teleports the Investigation Team and Shadow Operatives to the studio area which they use to exit out to Junes.

Trivia
- The TV studio-looking area that serves as the staging area in the TV World was created by the thoughts of Midnight Channel viewers. The floor pattern of the bodies with the white outlines was created by a combination of the protagonists, who had the murder case on their minds when they first entered the TV World, as well as Midnight Channel viewers who wanted to see the murder case unfold.[11]
- The places inside the TV World correspond to real life, and if the protagonists were to enter from a slightly different location than the Junes electronics department, they would end up close to the TV World studio but not in the exact same spot.[12]
