As an Agitated Shadow, Thoth is immune to insta-kills, Control ailments, and spiritual ailments, and is accompanied by a Horus with the same attributes. During the battle, the field will enter either day or night; it will become night when Thoth is attacked and day when Horus is attacked. The effects of day and night affect the stats of Thoth and Horus like so:

As an Agitated Shadow, Thoth is immune to insta-kills, Control ailments, and spiritual ailments. During the battle, Thoth will change its affinity to either all elemental attributes (Fire, Ice, Electricity, Wind) or all spiritual attributes (Psy, Nuke, Bless, Curse) to Drain. When one of these attributes is attacked, Thoth will gain a stack of Lunar Power. At two stacks, it will enter Full Moon, which summons two Sandmen and increases its stats. Every third turn Thoth will also enter the Full Moon's Protection state, giving it a shield. If the shield is not destroyed before Thoth's next turn, it will immediately enter Full Moon regardless of its Lunar Power stacks.

As an Agitated Shadow, Thoth is immune to insta-kills, Control ailments, and spiritual ailments. During the battle, a Clock will be present that governs the phase of the moon, which follows the order of New Moon, Waxing Crescent, Full Moon, and Waning Crescent. When the battle begins, the phase will be New Moon. The Clock cannot be defeated but can be attacked; attacking it with Fire, Ice, Electricity and Wind attribute skills will progress through the phases in normal order while attacking with Psychokinesis, Nuclear, Bless and Curse attribute skills will progress through the phases in reverse order. Thoth and the Clock will also be accompanied by two Sandmen with no unique qualities.

The phase of the moon will affect Thoth's stats in the following ways:

As an Agitated Shadow, Thoth is immune to insta-kills. During the battle, the time will alternate between Day and Night every turn. During the day, Wonder's party uses more SP and deal more damage when using skills. At night, all combatants are inflict with Deep Sleep, preventing their action and restoring 20% of max HP and SP every turn. Thoth will also summon a Sandman at the beginning of each night, and each Sandman present extends the duration of night by one turn.
