Thoth is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Thoth^[a] was an Egyptian deity who was believed to be the inventor of the hieroglyphic writing system. He was depicted with the head of an ibis. In the Hellenistic period, the Greeks identified him with their god Hermes, and the city where Thoth's chief temple was located was therefore called Hermopolis.

Design

Thoth appears as a white-furred baboon holding an open book on his lap. On his head is an ancient Egyptian symbol known as the moon disk, and the Eyes of Horus and Ra, additional important symbols, are shown on the front and back covers of his book. It also wears an ornate stole, with a gold rhombus design on the front and a turquoise teardrop design around the shoulders and back.
