In Persona 5 Royal, upon entering for the first time, Jose will appear and introduce the player to him, and his shop.

Depraved ShadowWraith of Envy

The Depraved Shadow encounter in the Path of Aiyatsbus is a group encounter versus the Four Heavenly Kings, which will transform into a single powerful Asura after being defeated. Each of the Four Heavenly Kings has a special attribute:

• Jikokuten has Blade of Sanctuary, granting a shield to a random ally upon dealing damage.
• Zouchouten has Growth of All Things, which will randomly increase the Attack, Defense, or damage dealt of all Shadows on the field every turn.
• Koumokuten has Eye of Heaven, which will target a member of Wonder's party, increase their damage taken, and cause all Shadows on the field to target that party member. Afterwards, he will also summon a single Makami with no distinct attributes.
• Bishamonten has Parasol of Chaos, which will change all attribute affinities for the Shadow with the lowest HP (by percentage) to Drain for two turns.

The Asura that enters the battle after the Four Heavenly Kings is defeated will have all of these attributes simultaneously. All five Shadows are immune to insta-kills and cannot be inflicted with spiritual ailments or Control ailments.

Persona 5: The Phantom X

The Phantom Thieves gain access to the Path of Aiyatsbus after changing Takeyuki Kiuchi's heart and must descend it following the events of Miyazawa's Palace in order to find the third Palace ruler. After encountering the Depraved Shadow in the fifth area, the party is ambushed by the Shadow that Wonder and Lufel had previously defeated. This shadow has grown in strength since the party's previous encounter with it, leading Lufel to question what desire has led to its reformation.
