Macca is a recurring item in the Megami Tensei franchise. It is one of the primary currencies used in the franchise, along with yen. Macca is represented with the astrological symbol for Saturn (♄).[1]
Profile
According to the booklet included in Megami Tensei I · II Shōkan-ban · Gattai-ban, as well as in Shin Megami Tensei Fanbook: Club Jakyō no Yakata (1993), macca was created under the direction of Lucifuge Rofocale.[2][3]
Gameplay
In Shin Megami Tensei, macca replaces yen after the Great Cataclysm. There is an exchange rate of 10 yen = 1 macca for prices in shops; however, demons drop and take the same amount of macca as they would have yen.
