Elizabeth
Elizabeth is a character in Persona 3 and its spin-offs. Initially serving as a dutiful assistant in the Velvet Room, her journey becomes one of self-discovery after she develops a profound connection to the Persona 3 protagonist.
Profile
An attendant of the Velvet Room, Elizabeth is one of the "siblings" created by Igor to assist guests on their journeys. She appears as a young woman with golden eyes and short, white hair, and always carries the Persona Compendium, a tome containing information on all Personas.
Elizabeth's personality is a blend of cheerful curiosity and eerie stoicism. Having spent her existence inside the Velvet Room, she has almost no knowledge of the human world and becomes fascinated by it, tasking the protagonist with showing her various aspects of human life. This leads to a series of comedic and endearing "date" requests where her eccentric behavior is on full display, such as interpreting a visit to a club as a cultural ritual or misunderstanding common figures of speech. Her relationship with her siblings is shown to be just as eccentric; She maintains a playful but distant relationship with her older sister Margaret and often teases her younger brother Theodore.

Despite her often ditzy and fun-loving demeanor, she possesses immense power and a deep understanding of the soul. She holds her duty in high regard but develops a personal will after witnessing the protagonist's sacrifice. This prompts her to abandon her post at the end of The Answer, seeking a way to free him from his fate as the Great Seal. This quest defines her character arc in subsequent appearances, showcasing her growth from a static attendant to a determined individual with her own purpose.

Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable
Elizabeth is a recurring optional superboss, widely considered one of the most challenging fights in the series. The battle has strict rules that must be followed.
The player must be on a New Game Plus, have completed the Bloody Button request, and must fight her alone at the top of Monad. Elizabeth has 20,000 HP and will use a rotation of powerful elemental Personas. The player cannot use any Personas that Null, Repel, or Drain the element she is currently using, or she will instantly kill them with a 9,999 damage Megidolaon. After every eighth turn, she will use a Pixie to heal herself to full health, requiring the player to deal massive damage within a limited window.[1]
Persona 3 Reload
The fight conditions are similar, requiring the player to be alone and on a New Game Plus after completing Request 101. However, some rules have changed. She no longer has a strict Persona rotation, making the fight less predictable. The restriction on Null/Repel/Drain attacks has been lifted, but if the player uses the Infinity spell, she will use her instant-kill Megidolaon. Her HP remains 20,000, and she still heals herself, making it a difficult damage race.[2]
Persona 4 Arena
In Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Elizabeth is a playable fighter. She wields Thanatos, her chosen Persona, reflecting her connection to the Persona 3 protagonist.
Her fighting style is unusual and difficult to master. She has low health but commands a powerful, screen-controlling Persona. Thanatos has several far-reaching attacks, including his signature "Ghastly Wail" which can inflict Fear. Elizabeth's unique mechanic involves her Arcana Cards; she can use moves that change her Arcana, and using an SP skill when the Death Arcana is active will greatly enhance its properties. Her Instant Kill is Mahamaon, where she summons a massive door (reminiscent of the one from the end of Persona 3) that opens to obliterate the opponent with holy light.[3]

Game Appearances
Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, and Persona 3 Portable
Elizabeth serves as the Velvet Room attendant for the male protagonist. She tasks him with over 100 requests, ranging from item fusions to combat challenges. A significant portion of these are her "Elizabeth Dates," where the protagonist takes her to various locations in Port Island to learn about the human world.
In Persona 3 FES, during the epilogue The Answer, Elizabeth witnesses Aigis's despair and grief. Realizing the depth of human emotion and the sacrifice the protagonist made, she gains a new "answer" for her own existence. She resigns from her post in the Velvet Room, embarking on a personal journey to find a way to free the protagonist's soul from its burden as the Great Seal.
In Persona 3 Portable, she can be chosen as the attendant for the female protagonist, offering the same quests. If Theodore is chosen, she will occasionally appear to tease him.
Persona 3 Reload
Elizabeth's role in Persona 3 Reload is largely the same as in the original. She provides quests[4] and her "date" events, which have been expanded with new voiced scenes. She also introduces the concept of Theurgy to the protagonist.
Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
Elizabeth's story continues as she searches for a way to defy fate and save the Persona 3 protagonist. Her journey leads her to Inaba, where she senses the "power of the Wild Card" in Yu Narukami. She tests him in battle to understand the strength that comes from bonds. During this time, her Arcana is The Fool, symbolizing her new journey into the unknown, free from the direct service of Igor. In Ultimax, she concludes that the power to perform a miracle lies not in fighting alone, but in the connections and bonds one makes, a lesson she learned from the protagonist she seeks to save.
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth
In Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, Elizabeth takes on the role of the school nurse. She runs the Infirmary, providing healing to the party for a fee and handling the game's various requests. She often complains about her "boring" job and uses the opportunity to conduct strange medical experiments on the party members, much to their dismay.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth
In Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, Elizabeth runs the ticket counter for the cinema. She is responsible for assigning side quests ("Special Screenings") to the combined S.E.E.S., Investigation Team, and Phantom Thieves. She has several comedic interactions with her siblings, particularly Theodore, whom she constantly torments.
Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight
Elizabeth is the final dancer to be unlocked in Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight after the player has completed enough Social Links.[5] She claims to have orchestrated the "dream ball" to see the members of SEES dance, as a way of honoring the memory of the protagonist. She is the main performer for the song Aria of the Soul (t.komine Remix). Elizabeth's dance style is a unique combination of hip hop and voguing. It is noted that she rarely syncs up with her dance partners, as she is too absorbed in her own performance.
Anime Appearances
Elizabeth appears in all four Persona 3 The Movie films, where her role mirrors that of the game.
- In #1 Spring of Birth, she is introduced as the Velvet Room attendant who gives Makoto Yuki quests, piquing her curiosity about the outside world.
- In #2 Midsummer Knight's Dream, her interactions with Makoto continue. She has a notable scene where Makoto takes her to Club Escapade, which she hilariously misinterprets.
- In #3 Falling Down, her concern for Makoto grows as he becomes more detached. She senses the changes in him and the Velvet Room.
- In #4 Winter of Rebirth, she sadly accepts Makoto's final decision. The film ends with a post-credits scene showing her leaving the Velvet Room, mirroring the start of her journey in Persona 3 FES: The Answer.

Nomenclature
According to Persona 3 FES Official Fanbook: My Episode, Elizabeth is named after the character Elizabeth from the film Bride of Frankenstein, whom the book claims to be an artificial human.[7] This is likely a slight confusion, mixing the character of Elizabeth Frankenstein (Dr. Frankenstein's human fiancée, based on Elizabeth Lavenza from Mary Shelley's novel) with the unnamed female creature, "the Bride," created in the film.[8] Like her master Igor and her siblings, her name follows the theme of characters from the Frankenstein story.
