Marukyu Tofu
Marukyu Tofu (Japanese: 丸久豆腐店, romanized Marukyū tōfu ten) is a tofu store run by Rise Kujikawa's grandmother. As Yukiko alludes to,[3] Marukyu Tofu has been less active lately. Since Rise's grandmother runs the store by herself, she has been making less tofu and shortening her shop hours.[4] In June, Rise begins helping out at the store, and with Rise's help, her grandmother begins making more tofu again. Rise is in charge of the morning batch of tofu before she goes to school, causing male customers to line up early in the morning.[1] The Investigation Team visits the store in June during the story. In addition to tofu, Marukyu sells related products such as tofu fritter. In Persona 4 The Animation, the store also sells donuts made of soybean scraps.

Souzai Daigaku
Souzai Daigaku (Japanese: 惣菜大学Ready made foods university, romanized Sōzai daigaku) is a prepared foods shop with a window that the store uses to sell skewers to people passing by. The protagonist eats here during some of his Social Links. The building that Souzai Daigaku occupies used to be a lingerie store. When the current owner took over, they turned it into a butcher, then into a prepared food store that sells "a taste of mom's cooking". The owner quickly discovered that people in rural areas don't have a longing for "mom's cooking" like those in the bigger cities do. The owner added the beefsteak menu due to the attempts to revitalize Inaba, but it's not like it's a steakhouse or anything. Regardless, the low prices have made Souzai Daigaku popular with students. The skewers are said to be 80% beef, with the other 20% being a trade secret.[1] One of the recent attempts to revitalize Inaba has been "Inaba Beefsteak", but since Inaba has no local meat farms, it is unknown where the beef comes from, and locals have begun gossiping that it is not actually beef. Atlus clarifies that it is beef, but where it is bought from is unknown.[1]

The protagonist can eat at Aiya to increase his Social Stats. It is also a location visited during Social Links and the story. On rainy days, Aiya serves a special with 3kg rice and 3kg meat. When customers ask Nakamura what the meat is, he replies, "It's Chinese cuisine, so it's sheep head and dog meat", referencing an expression about selling misleading products. In actuality, the meat used is pork[a] that is cheap but still good quality.[1] After eating at Aiya eight times, Nakamura gives the protagonist a book called The Ramen Way.

Game Appearances
Persona 4
The shopping district is a major setting in Persona 4. The protagonist first goes to the area on April 11th when he feels unwell and takes a walk around by himself. There, he can meet characters such as a brother arguing with his sister over a stolen cream puff.
As the year progresses, the protagonist visits stores such as Daidara and Shiroku for supplies and can meet NPCs such as Mitsuo Kubo and Taro Namatame, plus the Moel Gas Station Attendant during rainy weather. He learns that some stores in the shopping district have started to close since the local Junes opened.[6] Regardless, the shopping district is a major hangout and hub in Inaba. Whenever the Investigation Team needs to do leg work and question people around town, they often find plenty of people around the shopping district, and the residents standing around have dialogue that reflects other things happening in the plot.
Once the fog settles in Inaba in November, some people in the shopping district start talking about the fog being a poisonous gas caused by Junes, and others appear to be sick.

Additionally, Junes has agreed to have a local products corner, and an older man encourages the rest to put anything there, so long as they put their heart into making it.

Trivia
- Konishi Liquor is named after a developer on the battle team named Konishi whose family runs a liquor store. It was intended to be a placeholder name, but ended up sticking.[7] This anecdote is referring to Toshiki Konishi who was on the battle team during Persona 3 and Persona 4 before joining the sound team.[8]
- For the 15th anniversary of Persona 4, Atlus released a special sake with the Konishi Liquor branding.[9]
