Gameplay:Fox
This page covers gameplay information of the fox of Tatsuhime Shrine across the Persona series.
Social Link
The fox is the Hermit Social Link in both Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden. The fox is non-standard and only requires the protagonist to complete quests around Inaba for each rank of its Social Link. It begins automatically on May 5th. From then on, the protagonist can call the fox at the main shrine area of Tatsuhime Shrine to accept a wooden ema tablet with a wish written on it. After, the protagonist must fulfill the wish in the form of a quest, then report back to the fox at the shrine. Upon maxing the fox's Social Link, it gives the protagonist a Gratitude Ema which allows fusion of Ongyo-Ki.
Availability
Calling the fox and getting a new tablet does not consume time, but reporting back does consume time. The protagonist can report back to the fox on any day but only during the afternoon. This includes rainy days.

Rank Up
Completing quests to get ranks of the Hermit will reduce the cost of the fox's SP healing inside of the TV. Between Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, the quests for rank 2 through 9 have the same names and objectives, but different numbers. The respective last quests, required for rank 10, have different names and different objectives, though both involve Fishing.
For info about quests in Persona 4 Golden, see Quests in Persona 4 Golden.

Persona 4
The fox follows the Investigation Team into the TV World and offers SP healing services for money. The cost reduces with each rank of the Hermit Social Link. Maxing the Hermit allows the protagonist to draw fortunes at the shrine for Social Link points.
Persona 4 Golden
When inside the TV World, the protagonist can now pet the fox on the head when its in a good mood to receive different outfits. The fox's mood is tracked on the calendar. In Golden, the fortunes become available starting from rank 1, but give less points compared to Persona 4.
