Qing Long
Qing Long, also known as Seiryu, is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Qinglong,[a] or the Azure Dragon, is one of the Four Symbols.[b] It is mentioned in the Confucian Book of Rites, as well as Daoist texts regarding the Five Elements. In these texts, Qinglong represents the east, spring, and wood. Additionally, it symbolises various stars in the solar system. Being part of the Four Symbols, Xuanwu is paired with Zhuque, Xuanwu, and Baihu.[1] This system was later adopted into Daoist practice, where it became humanised; here, it is considered the animal form of Qingdi[c] of the Five Regions' Highest Deities,[d], representing Jupiter. According to Youxue Qionglin,[e] Qingdi comes from the eastern Chinese creator deity Taihao,[f] who is also a mythical inventor of fishing and the human form of Qinglong. Thus, Qingdi presides over the trigram 震 zhèn in Yijing[g] doctrine, representing thunder and spring, and in Wuxing[h] doctrine, 甲 jiǎ and 乙 yǐ are applied, comprising wood. Because wood flourishes in spring, and its colour is green, this therefore brings about "Qing" Di, and thus "Qing" Long.[2]
In cosmology, Qinglong is a constellation, consisting of several "Mansions," roughly translating to moon positions; Spica is its horn, κ Vir is its neck, α Lib is its root, π Sco is its room, Antares is its heart, μ Sco is its tail, and γ Sgr is its winnowing basket. Qinglong is also associated with good government, said to have come down during Yu the Great's 大禹 founding of the Xia 夏 dynasty as an auspicious sign.[3]
Originally, in the distant past, Qinglong was also associated with the water deity known as the Dragon King.[i] In this regard, Qinglong represents the east direction, spring season, the clear blue sky, and the refinement of azurite, minerals, and bronze over 800 years. In this sense, Qinglong is associated with Heilong, Bailong, Chilong, and Huanglong, and is also known as Canglong.[j][4] These qualities were eventually adopted into Daoist and folk religion ritual practice, particularly the associations with the east and spring season, bringing about what would become the modern incarnation of Qinglong.
Design
Qing Long is designed after the Qing dynasty dragon, with the same blue-green colours and drapes of red.

Nomenclature
The name in Revelations: Persona seems to be a misinterpretation of the Japanese name as 聖龍 seiryū ("holy dragon") instead of 青龍 seiryū ("azure dragon").
