Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, stylized as RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, is a video game in the Devil Summoner series. It is a remake of Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, the first entry in the Raidou sub-series. It is directed by Kazuyuki Yamai.

Taisho year 20, the Imperial Capitalーーー. A lone girl brings a strange request to Narumi and Raidou, who run a detective agency. However, before revealing her true intentions, the girl is kidnapped by someone. As Raidou and co. follow the case, something stands in their way...... Having inherited the name of Raidou Kuzunoha XIV, the Devil Summoner works to uncover the mysteries of the capital.

Gameplay

Gameplay has generally been updated to match Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon with other new systems and improvements. Some changes have also been made to the game's story, spanning minor details about certain characters and major changes to its final chapter.

General Changes

• Graphics, world, and character models have been remastered.
• Voice acting has been added in English and Japanese.
• Sword Alchemy from Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon has been added.
• The Detective Journal and the Case Files system from Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abbadon have been added.
• Difficulty settings can now be selected, including a new Sleuth difficulty with no game overs, similar to the Safety mode of other games.
• Random encounters have been removed, and enemy demons are now visible on the overworld via a Demon Symbol mechanic similar to Shin Megami Tensei IV and Shin Megami Tensei V.
  • In addition, a system called "Stealth Strike" has been added, allowing Raidou to gain an advantage going into battle if he catches an enemy by surprise.
• A number of new Summoner Titles have been added, including a free DLC that adds 10 fan-voted titles for Raidou.
• Items such as Skill Books that teach skills to demons and EXP-granting items (Thin Grimoires and Thick Grimoires) have been added.

Battle Changes

• The combat system has been changed and focuses more on collaboration with demons. You can now have two demons with you at once, and you can now recruit multiple of the same demon as allies.
• All ally demons in Raidou's party now gain EXP, rather than just demons who were summoned when combat ended.
• A lock-on feature in combat has been added.
• Raidou now has his own special attacks brand-new to the series, including:
  • "Devil's Bane," a powerful attack that can be used when an enemy has been stunned or when Raidou executes a perfect dodge
  • "Spirit Slash," an attack that deals massive damage to all enemies on the field
  • Various "Summoner Skills," split into two categories:
    • Combat Skills: special skills that do not deplete MAG and work on a cooldown timer. Though only three can be equipped at a time, they can be swapped between mid-combat, at the cost of putting the newly swapped-in skill on cooldown.
    • Sword Skills: modifiers that influence Raidou's attacks, techniques, and resistances. Up to eight can be equipped, and they can only be set outside of combat.
• The game's demon roster has been expanded to over 120 demons, nearly double from the 70 available in the original release.
• A "MAG Drain System" has been introduced.
• Raidou's gun attacks use an over-the-shoulder camera and automatic reload mechanic, rather than being consumables bought at Konnou-Ya.
  • Elemental bullets are also no longer available.
• The Art of Confinement, the game's version of Negotiation, can now be performed by holding the button rather than rapidly pressing it.

Quality of Life Changes

• Raidou can now dash.
• A minimap has been added.
• Sidequest and main objectives are now displayed on the overworld and minimap via colored objective markers.
• Search Fusion and Reverse Fusion options have been added to demon fusion. Skill inheritance specifications have been changed.
• Allied demons can now pass down all accumulated passive skills from their fusion history through inheritance.
• Changes have been made to allow all eight available skill slots for combat.
• Quicksave, Autosave, and Continue functions have been added.
• A fast travel system called "Express Streetcar" has been added, allowing Raidou to automatically travel to any major location from anywhere in the Capital.
• Raidou can now warp to the Goumaden and Konnou-ya from any save point.
• Raidou can heal his team by resting at the Narumi Detective Agency.
• Nakisawame no longer charges a fee for her healing services.
• The Premium Devil Chart, the game's version of a Demon Compendium, can register multiple versions of the same demon.

Story Changes

Some characters' names and lore were changed:

• Tsiolkovski has become Itolkovsky.
• The kanji for Goto-douji has changed from 業斗 to 業徒.
• An unnamed admiral has become Lord Takagi.
  • While the Japanese version removed the detail about Lord Takagi being a Navy Admiral, the English version did not reflect this change as it reused some translation from the PS2 version.
• Rasputin's motivations have been changed.
• The purpose of Munakata's plan has become less radical.
  • Accordingly, dialogues hostile toward Western powers have been modified or removed.
• New information and lore about the final boss and antagonist's background have been added.
• Cutscenes during the final battle have also been altered, though the general story trajectory remains unchanged.

Other Changes

Terms and images that could be perceived as offensive have been revised:

• Dai Nippon Teikoku(大日本帝國) has become Teito(帝都).
• The Rising Sun Flag in Ginza-cho has been changed to the Hinomaru.

All demons were given new textures to match the game's updated art style, and some went through significant changes:

• The unique skeletal design for Legion has been changed to its standard appearance.
• Incubus has changed to its Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers coloration.
• The hexagram on Agathion's jar has been replaced with a different symbol. This design was design previously used in Persona 5: The Phantom X and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.
• Lamia's design has been censored by adding scales to cover her breasts.

Version Differences

Demo Version

The demo version is currently available for free on digital storefronts. The entirety of Episode 0 and Episode 1 can be played like normal; the demo ends after meeting Tae Asakura and unlocking Sword Alchemy at the beginning of Episode 2. After this point, the player can continue exploring the previously available areas, purging Aril Rifts, and completing Case Files like normal, but Raidou will be unable to ride the streetcar to Ginza-cho and progress the story. Save files from the demo can be transferred to the full game.

Fan Title Campaign

Starting on March 27th, Atlus launched a prerelease promotion where players could submit custom titles for Raidou which would be implemented in-game as free DLC.

From April 25th to May 6th, Atlus West's Twitter account allowed fans to vote from a list of 15 submitted titles, with the top 7 being added to the game.

Summoners Guild

Beginning on April 10th, 2025, fans could sign up for the Summoners Guild fan club, a newsletter which promised to give members a closer look at Raidou Remastered. Members could also receive a password to unlock a password-protected PDF file containing the first chapter of Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Lone Marebito. The English translation was released on April 10th, with French, Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and Latin American Spanish versions being released at a later date.

Limited Run Games announced a Collector's Edition that includes a copy of the game for PS4, PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, or Steam and various exclusive physical merchandise for $249.99. Pre-orders will be open between May 5th and June 1st, 2025. The game will ship separately.

Trivia

• The Steam version cannot be purchased or key-activated in South Korea. Nevertheless, a Korean fan translation for Steam was released on July 16, 2025.

Nomenclature

The title was changed to English 'Raidou' to distinguish it as an enhanced version rather than a simple port, and to put the character's name front and center.
