For the demon of a similar name, see Huang Long. For the Dragon demon that represents the East, see Qing Long.
Jin Long[1] is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Jinlong[a] (lit. "golden dragon" or "metal dragon") is mentioned in Zhuang folklore, specifically from Guangxi,[b] which discusses a golden dragon rebelling against the Jade Emperor's order to prohibit rain for three years, wherein it was punished. This led to a cultural tradition where, every three years, a golden dragon carp is held in chains in Yaochi, the location of Xi Wangmu's heavenly garden. It is at this garden that Xi Wangmu would hold banquets every 3,000 years, serving peaches of immortality.[2]
In its official profile in Megami Tensei II no Subete, this Jinlong is referred to as a Dragon King of the East,[1] which would put it as a stand-in to Qinglong. It could, alternatively, refer to Huanglong or even the Long standing diametrically to Fenghuang.
Design
In Giten Megami Tensei: Tokyo Revelation, Jin Long is a recolor of Baek Yong.
