Mute (ミュート, Myūto), short for Mutation, is a Race of Demons in the Devil Children series. In the localization of Devil Children Light Book and Dark Book, it is known as Alt.

Profile

Demons of the Mute Race are the products of Fusion Accidents, which have a 10% chance to occur when fusing a God and Akuma. Mute Demons produced from Fusion Accidents, although rare, will have a lower level than the intended Demon.

Devil Children Light Book and Dark Book

The Mute Chip Power Unit can be equipped to the Deviliser to increase chances of Fusion Accidents, whereas Mute Guard decreases those chances.
