Mechi is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Mechi is an original creation for Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers.

Design

Mechi has a roughly spherical body, with stubby arms and legs and pointed ears. The ears are not present in the in-game graphics on the PocketStation peripheral, but they are present in the background graphic featuring Mechi in the main game. Multiple colored versions of Mechi are shown in said graphic.

In the PlayStation version only, Mechi can be interacted with using the PocketStation peripheral. Three different minigames are present. After Mechi is sufficiently raised, Mechi can be transferred back into the main game and transforms into a demon; this demon will vary depending on a variety of factors.

Mechi is not included in the original Sega Saturn version or in the Nintendo 3DS remaster, though a spiritual successor, the similarly-named Nemechi, exists in the Nintendo 3DS version.
