Charon is overworked and frustrated and wishes to revive the player to ease his burden having to ferry them through the river Styx.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner

After the protagonist is killed by Sid Davis near the start of the game, Charon tells the protagonist that it was not yet his time to die, but he cannot send him back to his own body, so he sends the protagonist's soul to the body of the recently-deceased Kyouji Kuzunoha.
