The protagonist is put on probation and forced to transfer to Shujin Academy after an incident where he allegedly assaulted a man. As part of his probation, he is put under the care of Sojiro Sakura, an acquaintance of his parents, and begins living in the attic of Café Leblanc. One day, the protagonist experiences a dream where he finds himself in a prison cell guarded by two girls dressed as wardens, with an old man watching over him from a desk. There, he is told by the old man that the room reflects his nature as a "prisoner of fate", and that ruin awaits him in the near future. He is then told that he must undergo rehabilitation.
