Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is an eighth-generation video game console developed by Nintendo and released worldwide on March 3, 2017. Codenamed the "NX", it is Nintendo's first hybrid console; utilizing a dock, users can alternate between connecting to a TV to play at home, or use it as a portable console by removing the console from the dock and playing on the go.

The Nintendo Switch comes with dedicated controllers named Joy-Cons; true to the hybrid nature of the Nintendo Switch, the Joy-Cons can be connected to the side of the console for use portably, or detached and paired to be used as a conventional wireless controller.

The Nintendo Switch has a subscription service named Nintendo Switch Online; among the features offered are emulated versions of games on various retro consoles created by Nintendo and Sega, called Nintendo Classics. Several Shin Megami Tensei games have been released on the service. In addition, the company G-Mode has also released several mobile Megami Tensei games under the G-Mode Archives+ branding.

The first Megami Tensei game released on the Nintendo Switch was Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore on January 17, 2020. Many other Megami Tensei games have been ported to the platform, either individually or through a larger branding.
