The Sega Saturn is a 32-bit fifth generation home video game console developed by SEGA and released November 22, 1994 in Japan, May 11, 1995 in North America, and July 8, 1995 in Europe. Despite being ostensibly a 3D console, Saturn struggled with 3D graphics and performed better with sprite based games.[citation needed]
The first Megami Tensei game released on the platform was Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner on December 25, 1995. It was the last SEGA console to receive Megami Tensei game releases. To date no Megami Tensei games on Sega Saturn have received a complete fan translation.
