Ixtab is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Origin
Ixtab, also known as Ix Tab, is a purported Maya goddess of suicide by hanging found in the Relación de las cosas de Yucatán. According to the Relación, Ixtab would appear to guide the souls of the departed to the afterlife, which was described as heaven by the Spanish missionaries of the time.[1] Ixtab's existence as a goddess of suicide is debated and numerous supposed depictions of her have been proven to be unrelated; as such it is possible that no such goddess existed prior to the conquest period or that her role as a deity has been misunderstood.

Game Appearances
When Flynn, Walter, and Jonathan are leaving the underground shelter in Blasted Shinjuku, the trio are approached by some hoarse-voiced individuals who plead for them to slay a demon that took over Blasted Shibuya and killed their families. They give Flynn a rusted key to access Shibuya while Burroughs registers their request as the quest "Defeating the Demon."
If Flynn chooses to follow through with the quest, the Samurai go to Shibuya and find themselves in a domain created by the demon they must slay, Ixtab. Ixtab is gladdened to find more humans to kill, believing that even having been born is unfortunate, and that only through death can humans experience paradise and freedom from suffering. Ixtab then summons a horde of Garrotes, who are the souls of humans who have resisted her, to attack the party, and once they are defeated, she steps in to fight instead. When defeated, Ixtab expresses confusion that her salvation would be rejected in favor of continuing to suffer in life, and swears they will regret it as she dies, leaving Jonathan and Walter to express their distaste with her philosophy.
