Origin

Shiva is the god of destruction in Hinduism, and one of the Trimurti along with Vishnu and Brahma. In the Shaivite tradition, Shiva is believed to be the Supreme Being.

In the Vedas, Shiva (lit. "the auspicious one") is used as an epithet of the storm god Rudra. Most likely by combining the Vedic Rudra with various popular beliefs, the understanding of Rudra would evolve into the present understanding of Shiva.

Shin Megami Tensei V

Shiva appears as an optional boss in the subquest "A Universe in Peril". He can only be challenged after defeating Vasuki (or Beelzebub in the Canon of Vengeance), and the Nahobino must be at least level 80. Using a leyline, the protagonist will meet him in the Summit Conference Hall, where he explains that he is gathering Magatsuhi in order to destroy the universe so that it can be returned to its rightful form by the creator god Brahma. Upon defeat, he will compliment the Nahobino for a splendid dance, and disappear after imparting some words of advice.

Majin Tensei

On stage 56, if the enemy unit Vritra is defeated before clearing the stage, Shiva will approach the Protagonist after the fact and, impressed with his strength, join his party as a controllable ally.

Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner 2

In the Sun, Shiva is an optional boss that can be fought after obtaining the Pinaka from a Parvati in the 5th layer and onward. Upon meeting, Shiva will challenge the party in order to ascertain if they are worthy to face Brahman.

When Shiva is defeated, the Aksara Mantra will be unlocked, and the player will be able to obtain the Turn Ring in Shiva's chamber.

Devil Survivor 2

Shiva plays a key role in the plan to defeat Alioth on the 5th day, and appears as an enemy on certain routes on the 7th day.

In order to defeat Alioth on the 5th day, Shiva and Kama are summoned to recreate a myth in which Kama angers Shiva by firing his arrow at him, which causes Shiva to destroy Kama using his Pasupata. Thanks to the efforts of Hinako Kujo and Airi Ban, the two demons are summoned and the story is reenacted, causing Shiva to shoot Alioth out of the sky.

If the Protagonist does not side with Daichi Shijima at the end of the 6th day, Shiva will appear as an enemy on the 7th day. During the battle against Hinako Kujo and Jungo Torii, Shiva will invite himself to aid Hinako after being impressed by her dance to summon him during the 5th day.
