Lahmu is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Lahmu are both monsters and a deity from ancient Mesopotamian culture. Meaning "the hairy one", they are entities associated with water and were primarily river spirits. Though they acted as house guardians, mythology states that they were once enemies of the gods until they were reformed. When referenced as a singular entity, Lahmu is the offspring of Tiamat and Apsu as one of the eleven monsters birthed to battle the gods. Upon the victory of Marduk, Lahmu is among those who bestow a variety of names upon him.[citation needed]

A god that appears in Babylonian mythology.
Born from Apsu and Tiamat, he and his sister, Lahamu, gave birth to Anshar and Kishar. Lahmu is at times depicted as a large serpent but has also been illustrated as a man wearing a red sash with six curls in his hair. Regardless, he is always shown alongside Lahamu, and is thought that together they represent the slit[sic] in the sea where Apsu's fresh water and Tiamat's sea water mix.

Game Appearances
Lahmu is an ancient Babylonian god who first appears as a voice in Sahori Itsukishima's head, calling out to her when the abuse from her bullies is becoming too much for her to tolerate. His first physical appearance is at Jozoji Temple when the barrier between Tokyo and Da'at breaks, resulting in demons flooding into the city. He initially attacks the Nahobino out of a desire to consume his magatsuhi but is unable to best him, only to sense his Knowledge at Jouin High School and abandons the fight to pursue it. Goko explains that Lahmu is an old god of Babylonia who still remembers the time before the Condemnation was in place and seeks to return to his former power.
Due to the demonic incursion, the school begins to merge with Da'at. Inside the school, Lahmu has captured Sahori, who is revealed to be his Knowledge. When a group of Angels attack in order to kill him and Sahori, he lashes out and slaughters them before influencing Sahori into climbing into his mouth. After which, they both teleport away. Desperate to find her friend, Tao Isonokami joins with the Nahobino in pursuit, with Aogami warning them of the danger Lahmu poses.
The Nahobino follows them to the top level of the school, where Sahori, empowered by Lahmu, has her two bullies at her mercy. The bullies beg Sahori not to hurt them, but Sahori throws their comments back at them, pointing out that it never helped when she begged the same of them. Lahmu appears, and the Nahobino attempts to attack him only to be struck by one of his tentacles with enough force that they are taken out of commission. He then encourages Sahori to take vengeance on her bullies, expressing sympathy for her suffering and calling her an "arbitrary sacrifice" for the God of Law. While Tao is able to reach out to Sahori, apologising for not helping her and imploring her not to harm her bullies, her built-up hatred and Lahmu's influence wins out, and she connects with Lahmu and directs him to kill her bullies, impaling them on Lahmu's tentacles before he consumes their magatsuhi. However by using his power she opens her soul to him, and he kidnaps her and drags her into Da'at so that they may unite as a Nahobino. In order to rescue Sahori and the other captured students, the Nahobino and Tao follow Lahmu into the Shinagawa region of Da'at.
After traversing through Da'at, Ichiro Dazai finds Sahori, however, he is wounded by Lahmu and is barely able to make it to the Fairy Village to pass their location onto the Nahobino and Tao, who find Lahmu and Sahori at Shinagawa Station. Lahmu speaks to Sahori, asking if she is ready to unite with him. She tries to escape, but he consumes her and attacks the Nahobino. Once he is defeated, he transforms into a more powerful form and continues the fight with renewed power. Ultimately, he is defeated, and his body fades, freeing Sahori. When Tao attempts to comfort her friend, it is revealed that Lahmu is in complete control of Sahori and attacks Tao with tentacles from her hand. The Nahobino intercepts the attack and is killed. Without the Nahobino to defend her, Lahmu quickly kills Tao, impaling her through the heart with his tentacles. The voice of Amitabha speaks to Tao's soul and awakens her to the power hidden within her, allowing her to revive the Nahobino. Lahmu, enraged and horrified by his sudden revival, prepares to attack once more, only for Sahori to wrest back control of her body and silently begs for release, to which the Nahobino hugs her before driving his blade through her, killing both her and Lahmu.
Lahmu's role in the Canon of Vengeance is largely the same, with the only major changes being that when the Nahobino and Aogami arrive at Jozoji temple, Lahmu has already departed to search for his partner. Similar to the Canon of Creation both Lahmu and Sahori are found at the top level of Jouin High School, threatening her bullies, with the Nahobino once again being taken out of commission. However, due to the influence and advice of Yoko Hiromine, rather than offering sympathy and apologising to Sahori, Tao instead seeks to atone and help Sahori shoulder the burden she had been carrying, picking up a shard of broken glass and threatening to kill Sahori's bullies herself. Seeing her friend follow her down this dark path breaks Sahori from Lahmu's control, as she refuses to let Tao perform such acts. Lahmu is enraged by Sahori's rejection of him and Tao for turning her against him and attacks, with the Nahobino and Yoko joining to battle him. As a result of this, Sahori's bullies survive the encounter.
After Lahmu dies, Sahori and Tao hug each other only to be both impaled by the snake of Lilith, killing them both. As she absorbs their magatsuhi, Lilith criticizes Lahmu for his wasteful slaughter of the students, stating that more magatsuhi could have been collected if he had been more methodical.
Upon entering Shinagawa, Lahmu's second form, despite not being fought in the Canon of Vengeance, is unlocked for fusion.
