Profile

Origin

Isis was the Egyptian goddess of magic and wisdom, also worshiped by the Greeks and Romans. She temporarily resurrects her brother-husband Osiris's body from the dead after he was murdered by Seth by collecting his remains from across Egypt and assembling his destroyed body. This ingrained Isis as a protector of the deceased in Egyptian mythology.

Using the saliva of Ra, Isis created a snake to bite Ra and poison him in a plot to usurp him. Despite being the supreme god of Egypt, the fact that Ra did not create the snake makes him unable to cure the poison, forcing him to relinquish his true name to Isis to get her to cure him, granting her power over him. She uses this influence to grant the right to rule the gods to either Osiris or Horus depending on variations of the myth.
