By inputting a 32-character-long string of letters and numbers, customized Demons can be summoned into the Protagonist's party for a fee of Macca depending on the Demon's level and skills. This includes Demons with skills that they could not have learned otherwise or have inherited via Fusion. Demons obtained through the password system do not count towards the completion of the Compendium, and must be obtained legitimately.
The password system allows the player to share and summon demons, including those that can't be obtained normally, such as Bugaboo and his alignment variants, the Fake Demonica demons, Demonee-Ho, Ishtar, or enemy-exclusive demons such as Humans.
Certain codes were put in by the game's staff. For example, putting in "Madoka Ueno" will give a Pixie with Megidolaon and Mediarahan. These staff codes are as follows:[1][2][3]
In Redux, the password system can be used to transfer demons players had in the original game to the new version. Additionally, it is no longer possible to use the system to obtain the enemy-only demons. The staff codes in the original Strange Journey do not work either.[2]
