Origin
A Harpy (plural Harpies, Ancient Greek: Ἅρπυια Hárpuia, plural Ἅρπυιαι Hárpuiai) is a half-human half-bird creature believed to personify wind. One Harpy named Podarge (Greek: Ποδάργηlit. "foot-slow", romanized Podárgē) is present in Homer's Iliad,[1] and two named Aello (Greek: Ἀελλώlit. "storm", romanized Aellṓ) and Ocypete (Greek: Ὠκυπέτηlit. "swift-flying", romanized Ōkypétē) respectively are present in Hesiod's Theogony.[2][3]
