This is a list of Quests in Shin Megami Tensei IV, including Main Quests and Challenge Quests.
Main Quests
Main Quests are issued during the main storyline and are necessary to complete in order to advance, with the exception of "Activate All Terminals" and "Defeating the Demon", which are optional. Main Quests reward in Experience Points and Macca when completed.

Challenge Quests
Challenge Quests are additional quests separate from the game's main story. These quests come in various types that have Flynn perform different kinds of tasks, such as delivering items, defeating certain Demons, escorting a character, and so forth. In addition to rewarding Experience Points and Macca, Challenge Quests may also reward in items or equipment when completed. A few Challenge Quests are exclusive to certain Alignment routes, while others only become available in a New Game+.
Most Challenge Quests are optional and do not need to be completed in order to advance the game's main story, with some exceptions. The Challenge Quests "Collect Demon Claws", "Gather Some Naraku Litchen", "The Lion's Roar Within Naraku", "Corpse Disposal", and "Overcome the Trial" are all required during the game's early story. In the Neutral route, a number of Challenge Quests need to be completed in order to progress with the remainder of the story; these Challenge Quests are marked with a tooltip next to their names.
