"Training Exercise II" is a Main Quest in Shin Megami Tensei IV.
Overview
Flynn is issued this quest shortly after winning his first battle against a Demon. Hope informs the Samurai prentices that not only must they slay Demons, but they must also strengthen their forces by enlisting Demons into their parties. As part of their ongoing training exercises, Hope instructs Flynn and the others to find and recruit three Demons. Flynn's AI navigator, Burroughs, also offers to explain to him the scouting process.
The first Demon that Flynn encounters and can recruit while this quest is active is always a Centaur. After this encounter, regardless of whether Flynn successfully recruits it or not, all other Demon encounters in Naraku are randomized.
The quest is completed immediately after Flynn recruits his third Demon, whereupon Hope issues the third and final exercise: "Final Training Exercise".
