Jack-o'-Lantern, also known as Pyro Jack, is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
A jack-o'-lantern is a hollowed-out vegetable with a face carved into it and a flame placed inside to act as a lantern. In the British Isles, they were traditionally made from root vegetables such as turnips or rutabagas, but in North America, settlers and their descendants used pumpkins instead; they are now generally made from pumpkins in the British Isles as well. Jack-o'-lanterns were customarily carved during autumntide, and they eventually became associated specifically with Halloween—the night before All Saints' Day—by the late 19th century.
In folklore, jack-o'-lantern was originally synonymous with will-o'-the-wisp. Later folklore incorporates the carved vegetable motif. One such story is an Irish folktale about a man named Stingy Jack which purports to explain the origin of this tradition. The man is usually depicted as a tricky and mischievous person even in the face of great danger. The most famous tale involves Stingy Jack coming face to face with Satan tricking him several times in order to force deals with the devil. Once he does pass away, he finds himself unable to ascend to Heaven and unable to enter Hell due to his dealings. Satan however does give him a small ember to light his way while he wanders as the world as a ghost. Jack takes the flame and places it into a turnip which had been hollowed out making it into a lantern.
Design
Jack-o'-Lantern's design is based around a carved-out pumpkin, or more precisely, a jack-o'-lantern. It holds a lantern in one of its hands which it normally waves when performing an attack. Its eyes usually have an orange glow, however, some depictions have small white dots as the eyes instead. It wears a light blue, crooked 'witch' hat with a white stripe above the brim. It also wears a dark blue robe which upon closer inspection, reveals it does not have a torso or arms. In Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II, however, it has a wildly different appearance. Unlike its design in most other entries, it lacks its robe, hat, and lantern. Instead, it has arms and legs as well as red sneakers. Its face has white dot eyes and a wide smile revealing a few teeth.

Jack-o'-Lantern, under the name Jack Lantern, is one of the four playable characters in Jack Bros.. He attacks through firing fireballs from his lantern, which are slightly stronger but at less frequency than Jack Frost's. His special attack damages all enemies on-screen.
In the story, Jack-o'-Lantern, along with Jack Frost and Jack the Ripper, went out of the World of Fairies for an outing on Halloween. However, as a result of getting sidetracked, come 11 o'clock, the other Fairy demons had already returned to their world, and should the Jack Brothers not make it back, they will lose their powers and disappear. Guided by Pixie, the Jack Brothers set off on a journey to get back within the hour. After defeating Beelzebub, Pixie and Jack-o'-Lantern run for the portal, wherein the latter is stopped by two Fairies asking where the Princess is as Pixie flies into the portal. Jack-o'-Lantern responds, saying he hadn't seen her, before the Princess comes out of the portal, to their surprise. Jack-o'-Lantern notices her voice is similar, to which the Princess is confused, and he is left to ponder the debacle as the credits roll.
Trivia
