Shin Megami Tensei if...

Unlike the Alignment system featured in it's predecessors, in Shin Megami Tensei if... the Protagonist's route is determined by the partner chosen at the start of the game. These partners include: Yumi Shirakawa, Shinji Kuroi also known as "Charlie", Reiko Akanezawa, and Akira Miyamoto.

Yumi Shirakawa can be found in classroom 2-D. She approaches the protagonist almost immediately after the game starts.

Charlie can be found in classroom 2-E.

Reiko Akanezawa can be found in the music room on the 1st floor.

Akira Miyamoto as a partner is restricted to New Game+. He can be found at a hallway entrance. If the protagonist chooses Akira, they will be sent to the Tower of Confinement instead of the Makai featured in the other routes.
