The Game Boy Color is an 8-bit fifth generation handheld video game console developed by Nintendo and released October 28, 1998 in Japan, November 18, 1998 in North America, and November 23, 1998 in Europe. Along with various improvements in technical power from its predecessor, it featured a backlit screen with color. It was backwards compatible with all Game Boy games, and many Game Boy games received GBC ports that added color.
The first Megami Tensei game released on the platform was Last Bible on December 23, 1992. 2/3rds of the Megami Tensei games on Game Boy received Game Boy Color ports.
