Synopsis
In the year 19XX the city of Tokyo was devastated by ICBMs launched by Ambassador Thorman in which the city was almost destroyed, but people hid in shelters that were spread throughout Tokyo when the attack happened. The city now infested with demons was ravaged by chaos while the people in the shelters lived peacefully as they were protected by the Devil Busters organization for when demons attacked the shelters.

- A fan remake of the game was in development between the year 2003 and 2012. Their goal was to get the rights of Giten for a limited partnership[2], but it was cancelled for unknown reasons. Their only achievement was that they made a patch for the Windows version of Giten, a patch that regulates the Active Time Battle time periods between turns so it doesn't break due to high CPU Clock speeds.[3]
