Naga Raja, also known as Raja Naga, is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Nagaraja^[a] is a Sanskrit term which means "naga king". In Hinduism, examples of naga kings include Shesha, Vasuki, and Takshaka. In Buddhism, examples of naga kings include Mucalinda, Dhataraṭṭha, and Apalala. While not a naga himself, the heavenly king Virupaksha is also described as the leader of the nagas.

Design

Naga Raja's modern design, first appearing in Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner 2, strongly resembles the design of Naga from Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner.
