On the sixth floor of Chemdah, the Ssu-Ling will appear as Depraved Shadows, each with their own unique effects:

• Genbu will grant three stacks of Black Tortoiseshell to all Shadows, and an additional stack every turn. Each stack will decrease final damage taken, but a stack will be removed when Genbu loses a Down Point.
• Suzaku will use the unique skills Suzaku's Pyre and Suzaku's Feathers. Suzaku's Pyre will inflict Pyre, dealing damage over time.
• Byakko will use the unique skills Byakko's Claw and Byakko's Fang. Byakko's Claw inflicts Deep Wounds, dealing damage over time, while Byakko's Fang inflicts Bite Marks, increasing damage taken. If both statuses have been inflicted, Byakko will use Prey, inflicting Despair on the target and dealing heavy damage.
• Seiryu will inflict weaknesses to a target. Any time a member of Wonder's party is downed, all Shadows will gain a stack of Azure Storm, which increases damage.

Additionally, all four Shadows will be immune to insta-kill effects, as well as spiritual/Control ailments.

On the seventh floor of Chemdah, Kohryu must be defeated in order for Wonder to gain access to the Path of Kaitul. This Kohryu is immune to insta-kill effects and spiritual/Control ailments. Kohryu will continually summon the Ssu-Ling, who have the traits featured in the Area 6 battle. Upon defeating these Shadows, Wonder's party will gain their abilities upon their defeat:

• Seiryu: Increases weakness damage dealt
• Byakko: Increases the power of All-Out Attacks
• Suzaku: Increases final damage dealt
• Genbu: Decreases final damage taken

Additionally, at low HP, Kohryu will begin using Psycho Blast: Ultra. In order to use this skill, Kohryu will use a turn preparing.
