Nirvana is a location in the Digital Devil Saga series.
Gameplay
Nirvana is the main setting of Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner 2, specifically Karma City, which serves as the overworld.

Following the events at Ground Zero and Svadhisthana, the Tribe leaders are summoned to Sahasrara by Angel, who promises that the winner of the Junkyard war, that being the Tribe that defeats all other Tribes and brings Sera with them, access to Nirvana.
Varin Omega, in his dying moments, reveals to the Embryon that they were all people who had died in Nirvana. His death marks the end of the war, and prompts Sera to remember her memories. The Embryon chase her to the top of the Karma Temple in Sahasrara, where Jenna Angel appears personally, going back on her word and intending on leaving the Embryon in the Junkyard to be destroyed with it. The Embryon fight her, destroying her control mechanism, which dooms the Junkyard and forces everyone to escape into Nirvana.

It is revealed that "Nirvana" is actually Earth, which had suffered a catastrophe following the blackening of the Sun. The Sun's corrupted data killed most of humanity by the Cuvier Syndrome, along with most of its vegetation. Those who escaped the sunlight moved underground or live under the Karma City's protective dome, though the Karma Soldiers instead have Atma, granting them immunity to Cuvier Syndrome.
With the Embryon's arrival in the real world, they make their way to the EGG Installation with the help of the Lokapala and Jenna Angel. Serph is wounded by Heat there, though he manages to drag both of them into the EGG. This inadvertently causes negative emotions to be sent to Brahman, who begins downloading the Earth's data through the HAARP, slowly destroying the Earth in the process. After a futile attempt to stop the HAARP by destroying the Power Plant, the Embryon return to the EGG Installation to try talking with Brahman, fighting Heat and recovering Serph, who had been kept alive by the EGG, though the EGG was unusable after Brahman's data corrupted the Installation. Sera then decides to go to the HAARP Facility and upload herself to the Sun in order to talk to Brahman directly, which the Embryon join her for. She manages to upload herself and Serph's data, who fuse into Seraph, and the data of their fallen comrades join them in the Sun. The Solar Data of the Embryon travel to the deepest layer of the Sun and encounter Brahman, defeating him in combat as he requested. Following this, Seraph reaches Enlightenment and the Sun returns to normal.
In the future, Earth and humanity manage to recover from the black Sun.
