She watches over her children, which include seals, fish, and other sea creatures. Sedna is a fearsome one-eyed goddess who is said to reside in a house of stone and whalebone. However, her form can only be seen by sorcerers. There are many explanations regarding Sedna's birth; these include that she was a greedy daughter born of two giants, or that she was a beautiful human girl who transformed after being thrown into the sea by an evil spirit in the form of a bird.
