Momunofu is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Momunofu (桃生) is an archaic pronunciation of the name of a former district and town (now pronounced Monou) located in Miyagi Prefecture in the Tohoku region; the prefecture was restructured in 2005 and both the district and town of Monou were abolished.
Momunofu's portrayal in the Megami Tensei franchise comes from the Tsugaru Soto Sangunshi, a document purported to detail the history of the Tohoku region. However, this document was a forgery created by Kihachirō Wada in the 1970s.
