Ammut is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Ammut, also spelled Ammit or Ahemait, is an ancient Egyptian goddess who plays a part in the judgement of the dead. According to chapter 125 of Book of the Dead, Ammut devours hearts heavy with sin on the scales. This prevents the deceased individual from passing into Aaru, condemning them to eternity in Duat, the world of the dead. She is depicted as a quadruped, possessing the head of a crocodile, the upper body of a lion, and the lower body of a hippopotamus.
In Egyptian, her name ꜥm-mwt means "she who devours the dead."
