Origin

Dwarfs, also pluralized as dwarves due to the influence of the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, are a class of beings in Germanic tales and folklore who live in the mountains. Dwarfs are known for being skilled craftsmen, and in the modern conception are usually thought of as shorter than the average human, though this is not explicit in the original tales. In Old Norse, dwarfs are called dvergar.

Last Bible Special	知力が高く、さまざまな魔法をあやつる老人型の小人妖精。森に生息し、ふだんはおとなしく生活している。また、たいへんな物知りで、その土地の歴史などにくわしい。 Translation: A fey dwarf resembling an old man that can use various kinds of magic thanks to its wisdom. It usually lives a quiet life in the forest. It is also knowledgeable about things such as the vast history of the land.

Game Appearances

Shin Megami Tensei II

A pair of dwarven blacksmiths can be found in Old Akasaka. On the neutral route, when Masakado's Sword breaks in order to give Aleph access to Keter Castle, he can take the blade to them, where the dwarves will excitedly repair it. The repair takes multiple moon cycles, and the dwarves will chastise him for his impatience if he returns before the sword is ready.
