Baphomet is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

In the early 14th century, the Knights' Templar were accused of worshiping "Baphomet," which is a corrupted form of the name of Muhammad, the Islamic prophet. In the 19th century, Baphomet was reinterpreted by occultist Éliphas Lévi as a goat-headed entity representing union of opposites. Aleister Crowley further developed the idea of Baphomet into being an emblem of his idea of Satan.

Shin Megami Tensei II

Baphomet can be found at the shrine in Old Shibuya, where he threatens to send Aleph to Yomi to go on a date with Yomotsu-Shikome if he does not leave. When Aleph refuses, he attacks. After his defeat, Onamuchi appears, thanking Aleph.
