Persona 5 The Animation, stylized as PERSONA5 the Animation, is an anime TV series adaptation of Persona 5, the sixth entry in the Persona series. The series is a follow-up to the Persona 5 The Animation: The Day Breakers television special that aired two years prior. While The Day Breakers is based on a sidequest from the game, Persona 5 The Animation closely follows the original game's plot. The series began airing in Japan on April 8, 2018 and ended on September 30 that same year, with 26 episodes. It was later followed by two epilogue specials that formally concluded the series: "Dark Sun..." and "Stars and Ours".
Two related OVA episodes were released on the series's 11th and 12th Blu-Ray and DVD volumes: "Proof of Justice" and "A Magical Valentine's Day".[1]
The English dub was available on August 18, 2020, as digital release exclusively on Funimation. Aniplex of America released the complete series, which included the English Dub and both OVA episodes, on Blu-ray on September 29 that same year.
