Makoto Niijima is a character in Persona 5 and its spin-off games. She is the Student Council President at Shujin Academy. While initially antagonistic to the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, she later joins as a member and team strategist.

Persona 5 A third-year student who serves as the student council president of Shujin Academy. She maintains excellent grades and good conduct due to her honor-student qualities, such as an earnest personality and unwillingness to compromise on even the most minor of matters. The faculty of Shujin also holds her in high esteem. After hearing that the sensational Phantom Thieves may be Shujin students, she starts looking for leads and eventually confronts the protagonist and his friends. However...

The calm and collected brainiac of the Phantom Thieves. Codename "Queen." A third-year at Shujin Academy, she is the student council president with excellent grades and a clean record of conduct. She appears to be a typical model student... until you learn she's also a martial arts master! Watch out for her dance moves inspired by aikido!

Persona 5 Tactica

A third-year student and the class president of Shujin Academy. Influenced by her strict sister, she always felt she had to be a responsible student. She used to be a floormat to the staff at her school, but after breaking out of her shell, she awakens her Persona and joins the Phantom Thieves. She assumes the role of the reliable, older sister in the group, and is a physical brawler who uses her fists to fight in battle, which can make her scary sometimes. Her Persona is Johanna.
