Manual Descriptions
Persona 5	A genius 15 year-old girl with otherworldly calculation and programming skills. Her interpersonal communication is extremely poor though, so she lives life as a shut-in with limited to no human interaction. However, she holds a strong interest in the Phantom Thieves and uses an unexpected method to contact them.
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight	Surrogate daughter of the man who owns the cafe the protagonist calls home. Codename "Oracle." Secretly an elite hacker with incredible intellect, she shut herself in her room after a certain incident. With the help of the protagonist and his friends she overcame her trauma and joined the Phantom Thieves. Her usual role is navigation and support, but is this her chance to storm the front lines?

Persona 5 Tactica

A genius hacker who, at one point, grabbed the attention of the world. She initially lived a life of recluse, as adults around her made her believe she caused her own mother’s death. Although she initially struggled with social interactions and talking to people face-to-face, by regaining her true memories, she awakens her Persona. In the Phantom Thieves, she provides a navigator role, supporting her teammates from the sidelines. Her Persona is Necronomicon.

Trivia

• Erica Lindback, Futaba's English voice actress has said in an interview she tried to play Futaba "like she was on the autism spectrum" in order to make her performance more "grounded".
• In Persona 5, Futaba tells Joker goodbye by saying サラダバーSalad bar (Sarada bā) instead of さらばだGoodbye (Saraba da). This expression is thought to originate from Shin's death scene in Fist of the North Star where the echo on his voice acting makes it sound like he is saying sarada bā. Futaba's use of it became popular with fans, with COSPA releasing a shirt of Futaba with the phrase and she ended up saying it again in Strikers. In English, the line is translated as, "Make like a tree and leaf".
• For the 30th anniversary celebration of the Persona series at Sea Paradise, Futaba is drawn with a trio of spotted garden eels.

Nomenclature

The family name derives from the placename Sakura, likely meaning either "hemp warehouse" or "clean warehouse". The given name, Futaba, means "seedling", as in the first two-leaved sprout from a dicot seed.
