Origin

According to folklore, the Tarasque was a large creature who lived near Tarascon in Provence (now part of France). The Golden Legend, a 13th-century collection of narratives surrounding saints compiled by Jacobus de Voragine, narrates that the Tarasque was pacified by Martha of Bethany through use of holy water and a cross.

Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army

A Tarrasque known as the Large Tarrasque appears as a boss in the Daidouji Basement. Later, Raidou will enter into a contract with the Large Tarrasque, who will allow the summoner to ride on him to traverse water-based pathways throughout The Capital by calling upon him with the Flute of Rhone. Raidou can also visit the Tarrasque and offer it various kinds of alcohol for rewards.

Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon

The Large Tarrasque from Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army is the subject of the Case File "It Came From The Sewer," in which an old friend of the demon asks Raidou to find him. The reason for his loss is due to the Daidouji Residence going away while he was out, displacing him and forcing him to live in the sewers, where he eventually drifted out to sea. Raidou manages to locate him at Tsukigata Village, where he has shrunk to the size of a normal turtle and is being harassed by some children. Raidou bribes the children into leaving the Tarrasque alone with three Jin Dans, and once they are gone, Gouto uses a Soma on the Tarrasque to restore it to its normal size. In return for saving him, the Large Tarrasque allows Raidou to call upon him with the Flute of Rhone whenever he wishes to traverse water-based pathways. He also tries to give Raidou a Tamatebako, a gift that would keep Raidou young forever so long as he does not open it, but he accidentally drops it before he can give it to him, which opens the box and reduces Raidou's health and MAG to 1. The Large Tarrasque profusely apologizes to him, and Raidou can either forgive him with no hard feelings or force the demon to heal him. In either case, the Tarrasque leaves, completing the Case File.
