Origin

Melchom is a demon mentioned in Jacques Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal. He carries a purse and is responsible for the payments to the public employees of hell. His name is presumably taken from Milcom (spelled Melchom in the Vulgate), the god of the Ammonites, who is mentioned in the Bible.

Melchom's design is based on the illustration of Melchom by Louis Le Breton in Jacques Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal, with added bat wings.
