In Revelation, the final book of the Christian New Testament, seven angels are said to blow trumpets which mostly precede disastrous events. The first one precedes a third of vegetation burning up; the second precedes a third of the sea being turned to blood; the third precedes a third of freshwater being poisoned by a star called Wormwood; the fourth precedes a third of the light of the heavens being darkened; the fifth precedes Abaddon and his locusts tormenting mankind; the sixth precedes 200 million troops being unleashed from the River Euphrates; the seventh and final trumpet precedes voices from heaven proclaiming that the earth is the kingdom of Jesus Christ, who will reign forever.

Design

Trumpeter appears as a skeleton in a white robe, blowing an ornate horn. It wears a black stole with a repeating triangular design over its robe, and has two white, feathered wings sprouting from its back. It has coiffed blond hair beneath a short black miter with a white stripe across the rim and top of the hat.

The horn being blown by Trumpeter is decorated with a small statuette, depicting a red orb with golden wings and a single blue eye.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax

Trumpeter is one of the Menorah holding Fiends necessary to defeat in order to progress in the Labyrinth of Amala. Fought in Yurakucho Tunnel, he drops the Menorah of Glory.

After his defeat, he becomes available for Fusion in the Cathedral of Shadows during a full Kagutsuchi phase if the Demi-fiend possesses a Death Stone.

Shin Megami Tensei IV

Trumpeter has a 1/256 chance of appearing in Kiccigiorgi Forest after the alignment lock, where the path meets at an X. Its Special Fusion becomes available when defeated.

Trumpeter is only obtainable on the Law or Neutral routes, since Kiccigiorgi Forest is inaccessible on the Chaos route.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

A horde of Trumpeters is fought on B36F of Twisted Tokyo.

Shin Megami Tensei V

The Trumpeter is the last Fiend to be fought as a part of the "Return of the True Demon" DLC side-quest.
